Cassandra 1.2 unpacks files into the directories listed here.

Locations of the configuration files

The configuration files, such as cassandra.yaml and cassandra-topology.properties are located in the following directories:

Packaged installs: /etc/cassandra/conf
Tarball installs: <install_location>/conf
