Data Definition Language (DDL)

Don’t execute multiple DDL commands at the same time. Concurrent schema changes can result in nodes having different schemas. These inconsistencies cannot be resolved by normal repair operations.

  • The CLUSTERING ORDER BY clause is optional. If not specified, the default is ASC.

  • The ID clause is not configurable for Astra DB, and it is ignored if specified.

Data Control Language (DCL)

Astra DB does not suport CQL DCL commands. Use the Astra Portal to manage database users and roles.
