Configuring the DataStax Distribution of Apache Cassandra on Azure Marketplace

Configuring DDAC on the Azure Marketplace.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have an Azure subscription with enough resource quota to deploy a three-node cluster.

  1. Select the Create button to configure your deployment.

  2. On the Basic Configuration page, complete the basic settings and select OK.

    Option Description
    DDAC SKU Determines the level of support.
    Admin username OS-level username used to ssh into the virtual machines (VM).
    Admin password Password for the OS-level username.
    Subscription Your Azure subscription.
    Resource group Name of the container for holding your DataStax resources.
    Location Deployment region.

  3. On the Datastax Configuration screen, complete the cluster settings and select OK.

    Setting Description
    Node count Number of nodes in the cluster (3-20).
    Virtual machine size Type of instance for your workload.
    Disk size 1- or 2-TB disk.

  4. On the Datastax Optional Configuration screen, complete the settings and select OK.

    DDAC cluster Name of the Cassandra cluster.
    DDAC datacenter Name of the DataStax datacenter.
    Public IP on node Specify public or private IPs on the Cassandra nodes.
    devOps VM size Instance type for the development VM.

  5. Select the OK button on the Summary screen.

  6. Select the Create button on the Buy page to start the deployment.

  7. Once the deployment starts, you can check on the progress by selecting the resource group or the Deployment in progress link.

  8. Once the deployment is successful, go to the Outputs to see the webserver URL on the virtual machine and associated IP addresses.
