Mission Control installation overview

When getting started with Mission Control it is important to first understand the architecture and plan out your deployment. The decisions made during installation depend on your target topologies for downstream DataStax Enterprise (DSE) clusters. DataStax recommends that you first review the planning information and deployment considerations before beginning installation.

Sequential installation phases include planning, preparing your environment, configuring and installing Mission Control on that environment, and then accessing either the UI or CLI.

Prepare your environment

After completing the planning phase, next you prepare the environment where Mission Control is to be configured and installed. If you are starting with bare-metal or a Virtual Machine (VM), then use the Mission Control Runtime Installer to spin up required services.

However, to use your organization’s Kubernetes services (centralized or cloud-based), prepare your own Kubernetes cluster environment.
