Check for user-defined type (UDT) existence

In cqlsh, the DESCRIBE TYPE command outputs the full details of a user-defined type. Use the output from the DESCRIBE command to recreate the UDT.

Prerequisites

Verify that a particular UDT exists:

DESCRIBE TYPE cycling.fullname;
Results
CREATE TYPE cycling.fullname (
    firstname text,
    lastname text
);
