This page describes compatibility between the Apache Cassandra® Spark connector and DSE, HCD, Astra DB, and open-source Cassandra.

Apache Cassandra Spark connector ownership

Following version 3.5.1, the Apache Software Foundation maintains the Apache Cassandra Spark connector (cassandra-spark-connector) Latest cassandra-spark-connector release on GitHub. Prior versions were maintained by DataStax.

For version 3.5.1 and earlier, the package groupId is com.datastax.spark. This can change in later releases.

Apache Cassandra Spark connector compatibility

In addition to open-source Cassandra, the Cassandra Spark connector is compatible with Astra DB, DSE, and HCD.

Support for the Apache Cassandra 5.x built-in vector type is available in versions 3.5.1 and later.
