Configuring DataStax Studio

Studio is a desktop application that automatically saves your work. The default configuration should not require adjusting. However, users can configure different aspects of how Studio runs, including changing the httpBindAddress.

Changing the httpBindAddress setting from the default (localhost) can pose a security risk as users on external machines can gain access to Studio notebooks and the data in the DSE clusters to which those notebooks are connected. Distributed deployment introduces potential security risks.

To change JVM settings, see Specifying JVM settings for DataStax Studio.

Procedure

  1. Open the configuration.yaml file in a text editor.

  2. Make changes to any basic setting.

  3. If an advanced setting is not in the file, add it.

  4. Save the file.

  5. Restart Studio to recognize the changes.
