nodetool rebuild_view

Rebuilds specified materialized views for the specified table. Use nodetool rebuild_view to rebuild materialized views after restoring sstables or after restarting a materialized view build that was stopped. If no materialized views are specified, all materialized views based on the specified table are rebuilt.

nodetool rebuild_view does not clear existing data in the materialized view.

Synopsis

nodetool [<connection_options>] rebuild_view
[--] keyspace_name table
[<materialized_view_name>] [<materializeds_view_name> ...]

Definition

The short- and long-form options are comma-separated.

Connection options

-h, --host hostname

The hostname or IP address of a remote node or nodes. When omitted, the default is the local machine.

-p, --port jmx_port

The JMX port number.

-pw, --password jmxpassword

The JMX password for authenticating with secure JMX. If a password is not provided, you are prompted to enter one.

-pwf, --password-file jmx_password_filepath

The filepath to the file that stores JMX authentication credentials.

-u, --username jmx_username

The username for authenticating with secure JMX.

Command arguments

--

Separates an option from an argument that could be mistaken for an option.

materialized_view_name

One or more materialized view names, separated by a space. If not specified, all materialized views in the table are rebuilt.

keyspace_name

The keyspace name.

table_name

The table name.

Examples

Rebuild materialized view

Rebuild cyclist_by_age materialized view on the cyclist_base table on the cycling keyspace:

nodetool rebuild_view cycling cyclist_base cyclist_by_age

Results:

Start rebuilding 1 materialized views: [cycling.cyclist_by_age]

Rebuild two materialized views

Rebuild cyclist_by_age and cyclist_by_birthday_and_age materialized views on the cyclist_base table on the cycling keyspace:

nodetool rebuild_view cycling cyclist_base cyclist_by_age cyclist_by_birthday_and_age

Results:

Start rebuilding 2 materialized views: [cycling.cyclist_by_age, cycling.cyclist_by_birthday_and_age]

Rebuild all materialized views on table

Rebuild all materialized views on the cyclist_base table on the cycling keyspace:

nodetool rebuild_view cycling cyclist_base

Results:

Start rebuilding 4 materialized views: [cycling.cyclist_by_age, cycling.cyclist_by_birthday_and_age, cycling.cyclist_by_finish_time, cycling.cyclist_by_races]
