Simba ODBC driver for Apache Spark™ (Windows)
The Simba ODBC driver for Spark provides Windows users access to the information stored in DataStax Enterprise clusters with a running Spark SQL Thrift Server.
This driver allows you to access the data stored on your DataStax Enterprise Spark nodes using business intelligence (BI) tools, such as Tableau and Microsoft Excel.
The driver is compliant with ODBC 3.52 specification and automatically translates any SQL-92 query into Spark SQL.
Your DSE 5.1 license includes a license to use the Simba drivers.

Make sure your operating system is supported:

Make sure you have a running DSE Analytics cluster:

One node in the cluster is running the Spark SQL Thrift Server.

Contact IBM Support to download and install the Simba ODBC driver for Apache Spark for Microsoft Windows (32-bit or 64-bit).

Run the installer and follow the installation wizard using instructions provided by IBM Support.

Add the Simba ODBC driver data source to Windows, as explained in Configuring the Apache Spark™ ODBC driver (Windows).
