Pauses replication for a channel for change data to flow from a source cluster to a destination cluster.
A replication channel is a defined channel of change data between source clusters and destination clusters.
Pause collection of data or transmission of data between a source cluster and destination cluster.

Syntax diagrams and code samples use one or more of these styles to mark placeholders for variable values. Replace placeholders with a valid option or your own user-defined value. In CQL statements, angle brackets are required to enclose data types in a set, list, map, or tuple.
Separate the data types with a comma.
For example: In Search CQL statements, angle brackets are used to identify the entity and literal value to overwrite the XML element in the schema and |

Square brackets surround optional command arguments. Do not type the square brackets. |

Parentheses identify a group to choose from. Do not type the parentheses. |

A pipe separates alternative elements. Type any one of the elements. Do not type the pipe. |

Single quotation marks must surround literal strings in CQL statements.
Use single quotation marks to preserve upper case.

For Search CQL only: Single quotation marks surround an entire XML schema declaration, such as |

Separate command line options from command arguments with two hyphens. This syntax is useful when arguments might be mistaken for command line options. |
- --source-keyspace
-
Provide the name of the source cluster keyspace to replicate.
- --source-table
-
Provide the name of the source table to replicate.
- --destinations
-
Specify one or more destinations where the replication is sent. If multiple destinations are specified, separate them with commas. For example:
-
One destination:
--destinations dest1 -
Multiple destinations:
--destinations dest1,dest2,dest3
-
- --data-center-ids
-
Specify one or more datacenters for the channel. The datacenters must already exist.
If multiple datacenters are specified, separate them with commas. For example:
-
One datacenter:
--data-center-ids dc1 -
Multiple datacenters:
--data-center-ids dc1,dc2,dc3
-
- --collection
-
No data for the source table is collected.
- --transmission
-
No data for the source table is sent to the configured destinations.
Examples
Pause a replication source channel:
dse advrep channel pause --source-keyspace foo --source-table bar \
--destinations mydest --data-center-ids Cassandra
Result
Channel dc=Cassandra keyspace=foo table=bar collection to mydest was paused
The source datacenter is the datacenter in which the command is run. The keyspace and table names on the destination can be different than on the source, but in this example they are the same.
