dse advrep conf update

Updates configuration settings for advanced replication.

A replication channel is a defined channel of change data between source clusters and destination clusters.

This command is supported only on nodes configured for DSE Advanced Replication.

Syntax legend
Syntax conventions Description

Italic, bold, or < >

Syntax diagrams and code samples use one or more of these styles to mark placeholders for variable values. Replace placeholders with a valid option or your own user-defined value.

In CQL statements, angle brackets are required to enclose data types in a set, list, map, or tuple. Separate the data types with a comma. For example: <datatype2

In Search CQL statements, angle brackets are used to identify the entity and literal value to overwrite the XML element in the schema and solrconfig files, such as @<xml_entity>='<xml_entity_type>'.

[ ]

Square brackets surround optional command arguments. Do not type the square brackets.

( )

Parentheses identify a group to choose from. Do not type the parentheses.

|

A pipe separates alternative elements. Type any one of the elements. Do not type the pipe.

...

Indicates that you can repeat the syntax element as often as required.

'

Single quotation marks must surround literal strings in CQL statements. Use single quotation marks to preserve upper case. + For Search CQL only: Single quotation marks surround an entire XML schema declaration, such as '<<schema> ... </schema>>'

{ }

Map collection. Curly braces enclose maps ({ <key_datatype>:<value_datatype> }) or key value pairs ({ <key>:<value> }). A colon separates the key and the value.

;

Ends a CQL statement.

--

Separate command line options from command arguments with two hyphens. This syntax is useful when arguments might be mistaken for command line options.

--audit-log-compression

Boolean indicating whether to enable audit logging.

--audit-log-compression

To enable audit log compression, set to gzip. To disable audit log compression, set to none or omit the option.

Default: none

--audit-log-file

Provide the audit log filename.

--audit-log-rotate-max

Set the maximum number of minutes for the audit log lifespan.

--audit-log-rotate-mins

Set the number of minutes before the audit log rotates.

--permits

Specify the maximum number of messages that can be replicated in parallel over all destinations. Default: 1024

--collection-max-open-files

Specify the number of open files kept.

--collection-time-slice-count

Specify the number of files which are open in the ingestor simultaneously.

--collection-time-slice-width

Specify the time period in seconds for each data block ingested. Smaller time widths mean more files. Larger time widths mean larger files, but this requires more data to resend on CRC mismatches.

--collection-expire-after-write

Whether the collection expires after the write occurs.

--invalid-message-log

Specify where error information is stored for messages that could not be replicated:

  • SYSTEM_LOG: Log the CQL query and the error message in the system log on the destination.

  • CHANNEL_LOG (default): Store the CQL query and the error message in files in /var/lib/cassandra/advrep/invalid_queries on the destination.

  • NONE: Perform no logging.

Examples

Update configuration settings:

dse advrep conf update --permits 8 --audit-log-enabled true --audit-log-file auditLog
Result
Updated audit_log_file from null to auditLog
Updated permits from null to 8
Updated audit_log_enabled from null to true
