Choose an installation method
The installation and operating system type determines how you install DataStax Enterprise (DSE). Be sure to install on a supported platform.

Mission Control (Recommended) |
Use Mission Control to provision and deploy DataStax Enterprise (DSE) 6.8 clusters. Mission Control is a cloud-based service that provides a unified management console for DSE and Apache Cassandra®. |
DSE OpsCenter Lifecycle Manager (LCM) can install DSE. Install DSE OpsCenter, and then provision a DSE instance. You define the deployment configuration, and you can allow LCM to install dependencies, such as SSH, Python, and Java. LCM provides the following features and benefits for managing your DSE clusters:

Installs DSE using Yum repositories on RHEL-based systems. Typically used in production environments and requires root permissions. |
Installing DataStax Enterprise 6.8 on Debian-based systems using APT |
Installs DSE on Debian-based systems using APT. Typically used in production environments and requires root permissions. |
Installs DSE on any supported Linux-based platform. Does not require root permissions. |
